First Boat Trip of the Season

We were able to get the boat out this last Saturday. And we had a great time. We went to Yuba Lake. We haven't been there for a very long time. Tyler says he's never been there. (Trying to put the guilt on David and me.) It was so much fun, we're going to do it again. So kids get your boating gear and attitudes on - we're doing it.

The steering wheel was a distraction for Jaxon so his mom and dad could pump up the tubes. It worked, but he also lowered the motor so when we tried to leave the shore, we were stuck. It took a minute for us to figure out why we couldn't get the boat out of the mud.

Kaja loved everything about it. Tyler got her to raise her arms like a roller coaster ride. She went for quite a ways like this!

Andi needed a break, and took a minute in the shade to put her head down,
Christine tried to keep in the shade. She and Kaja are taking a water break. But, you get stuck with the water jug and have to serve everyone.

Kaja was pretty happy here. She had her soda pop and a couple pieces of licorice. Can't get much better than this.

Jaxon enjoyed the mud and shore walks with mom and dad and grandpa. He kept going to one place though, and that was towards the dog.

This is Tyler jumping the wake. He got on just like he knew what he was doing. OHHHH, he does know what he's doing. "Good Job, Tyler", that's what Kaja would tell him. Then when he fell, she say, "Tyler, get up!".

Here's Paul. He hasn't done this for a couple of years and he made it look so easy. He's getting ready for the BIG jump.
We had a really good day. We missed Kevin's and Leslie's families. We will have to do it again.

Fun In The Water

The grandkids were over the other day and this is what happened.

Andrea and I were in frosting cupcakes and graham crackers and could hear Kaja giggling. We looked out the window and there she was, soaked from head to toe. She had gotten in the swimming pool - IN HER CLOTHES! It was the funniest thing to see. She was having a blast!

The only thing left to do was to let Jax go and let him join in the fun. He wouldn't get in, but he loved to splash, and Kaja, of course, was a great help to him.

Then Kylee had to join in, although she wasn't in the splashing mood. She wanted to jump on the Tramp instead. She's found a new love - grandma's trampoline.
I love the summer time and having the kids over. They always entertain us.

FATHER'S DAY

We had a great Father's Day. Tracy and Rob had us all over to their home. We had delicious food and good conversation with the Fam. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family and I'm so happy we get together often.

Here are a few pictures of the fun.

What are you doing Bill?

Cute girls!
Jaxon provided the music!

These two are having way too much fun!!

Here's some of the younger set, No I don't mean Rob.

Enjoying a little down time. The weather couldn't have been better.

The steak and chicken were so good.
Happy Father's Day to all the father's out there who have given us so much and who we love.

Four Corners

This is kind of goofy of me, but this picture is mostly for Christine.

I'm not sure what my dad is doing here, but this is a picture of the four corners of the States. Christine had told me she like to go here, this is it.

Some Things Just Don't Change

Look at this!

Grand Grandparents

Here's a little tribute to grandparents. I want my kids to remember what great grandparents they had. So here are a few pictures for them to reminisce.

This is my dad in Hawaii. He had a sister who lived there for a short while. He and Nana took a trip over to visit Mary Etta and Jack.

I hope they remember Grandma Melvina. She is David's dad's mom. Leslie and Andrea and I used to spend a lot of time with her. We only lived a block away when David was in Law School and we used to walk to her home and visit. She always had vanilla wafers for the girls.

And here is my Nana. I often wonder if my kids really remember her. But, here is Leslie with her at Christmas time. She was a wonderful lady. I learned a lot from her how to treat others and how to act like a lady.

My mom loved her grandkids. She couldn't get enough of them. And I know my kids have great stories to tell about Grandma Maureen.

Couldn't help throw in another picture with Nana.

Here's Grandpa Paul. He loved the outdoors. I don't have too many pictures of him, because he was always the photographer.

Another one of dad. My little ? 6 foot 4 brother Brad is standing next to him, a bit hard to see.

Grandma Maureen is holding Andrea. It's Leslie's 2 year birthday party. There's Grandma Janny in the blue and Grandma Melvina in red looking on.

These pictures are from my dad's camera so the Jeffs' aren't in too many pictures. What special people my kids have had in their lives, who love and support them. Don't forget!

I know, I know, I know! Two in one day is just plain crazy for me, but I couldn't pass this one up. It's another time comparison.

Here is a picture of Snow White's fountain, 2008. We should have put someone in front of this picture DAVID!

And here is Snow White's fountain in 1962, or theres about. There's Geoff, Brad, Frank of me!
Whoops, I just noticed one of the pictures should be flipped. Oh well, you get the "picture".

A little of the old and A little of the new

I'm still having a blast scanning our old slides. It is so much fun to see how things used to be. it brings back wonderful memories. Yes, yes, Tyler; they make me cry.

Here is a picture of me with my brothers, probably around 1958. It evevn sounds ancient to me. My older brother Frank is holding my youngest brother, Brad. Geoff, my younger brother and I are "sitting pretty" in the lawn chairs.

This is Kevin - 2, Andrea - 5, and Leslie - 6, probably around 1983. They are being awfully good.

Here's Kaja in the high chair her mommy used when she was young.

Here's a blast from the past! Andrea in the same high chair (and eating too) that Kaja is in the picture above. Their size is a bit different.

THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH

Here we are the happy couple, at our happy place. I'm not sure David agrees but it was fun and we had a good time. I know he will agree with that. The weather was great, not too hot, not too cold and the lines were probably as perfect as anyone could ask. We never waited more than 30 minutes, and we used the fast passes just to let us do more rides. We did so much, and yet I come home feeling like we missed a lot. Oh well, there's always next time!!!!

Ya have to have your picture taken with Mickey! This is a trick. We took it on our way out. We would arrive at the park first thing in the mornings, 9 for Disneyland and 10 for California Adventure, then we would leave around 3 or 4 to go home and relax, or lay by the pool and then go to dinner outside the park. We would then return to shop at the Disney Mall. There were several live bands and atmosphere galore. We also made it back to ride a couple more rides, watch the evening Fantasmic and fireworks and ride the Madderhorn at night.

Here are our daredevils. They would ride anything, anywhere.

Here are the "not so daredevils". This was just right for me and Christine. The ever so frightening JELLYFISH.

I think this was my all time favorite ride, California Screamin'. What a thrill!

TYLER!!! What's that I see??? Shame on you.

This is the Haunted Mansion. Do they look scared to you? !! They're trying. Tyler was very sure to remind us how his dad tricked him into getting on this ride when he was only 4 years old.

This is a bit hard for you to see, but our Jungle Ride boat broke down on the second turn into the ride and we had to be towed out. The best thing was they gave us all a fast pass for anytime we wanted!!

This was the first ride of the first day. Take note of the happy face.

I think Tyler is making the 'pirate face'; "Argh, Argh", Christine's got a hook there and David is just happy to be here.

That's the Disneyland tour in a nutshell. Until next trip, may all your wishes come true.
