Be Your Best

Ok. ok, ok! Christmas is boxed up and in the basement, where it will keep for another 11, getting closer to 10 all the time, months. Can you believe it THIRTEEN BOXES of Christmas Decorations. And that doesn't count the 3 tubs with boxes, wrapping paper and bags and tape and tags. WOW!

David, my sweet helpful husband, brought up all 13 tubs! Two were full of things to put back on the walls and fill up the spaces, and 11 were empty for me to fill with the Christmas Stuff. Can you believe it! Our family room looked like we were boxing up to move. David gave me a "LAW" a couple of years ago concerning my growing Christmas Decos. He said for everything new brought into my stash, something old leaves the stash. I've tried somewhat to accomodate him, but little does he know (He certainly doesn't keep track of the stuff) what really goes on. And to be quite honest, I don't keep real great track of the stuff either. But, I do clean out each year as I start to deorate the house for the Holiday and toss some old things away. It's tough with the sentiment and all, but I really have been better.

I'm glad for a New Year. I haven't ever liked the resolutions thing too much. I do like the starting clean and new, re-evalutating and trying again to be better. I learn a lot from the past. Some things I did ok at, some I did real well at and there are those things I need a lot of work on. But, that's what we were put on this earth for was to be better and do the best we can.

So here's to all of us for being the best we can be. What are some things you would like to be better at? Be happier, be kinder, be more attentive, be a good listener, learn a new skill, read the Book of Mormon, listen to the small voice telling you to serve, have more patience, be the best mom you can, or sister, or mom, or dad, or brother, or grandma, etc. Whatever your wish or your goal I know you can do it.
